Rice Lake, Skywatch Friday

I took this when we were out on the boat on Rice Lake.

Rice Lake is just down  the Trent River from us in Hastings. It's a long thin shallow lake, 20 miles long, 3miles wide and 6-9 feet deep. Part of the 380km long Trent Severn Waterway that connects Georgian Bay in the north to Lake Ontario in the south. It's popular for boating, fishing and just holiday making with many resorts around the shore.

Fabulous skies - so big and blue. Am up to speed on the boat and think it was a brilliant purchase. Well, with a river, a lake and a jetty it would be rude not to!

Cool shot of the sky and lake. Just last Sunday my hubster and I were in Peterborough investigating the Trent-Severn Waterway. :) We almost got as far as Rice Lake but not quite. That may be the destination of a near-future road trip. Thanks for the inspiration.
